The students at Hanna Primary School participated in an At My Best® Play Day to celebrate the new things the students have learned in the At My Best® program. This program has been running since January and has helped the students develop new habits, involving healthy choices and physical activity. Some of the activities that the students participated in were: What Food Am I? Guessing Game; Leap Frog Tag; Developing Fitness Games; Stand Up and Be Proud (fostered individual feeling of pride and recognition from peers); Pass the Compliment; Nutrition Bingo; and Healthy Snack Station. The At My Best® Play Day was a great success! Funding for this day was provided by Prairie Land School Division’s Healthy School’s Wellness Fund. -- Hanna Primary |

On Thursday, June 9 Westwood Primary celebrated a "AT My Best" day! There were activities through out the day( grades 3 & 2 did a 1/2 hour U-Fit in the gym, grade 1 did hula hoops, skip-its & skipping to lively music and kindergarten classes did a jog/walk on our school trails, stretch and play). Each grade level closed their activity with their own creative secret handshakes!...this was a fun way to cool down! Students were encouraged to pay 3 compliments to their classmates, teachers & staff. Also we will gather as a school to enjoy a lunch time picnic on Monday!( Thursday did not work because of hot lunch orders)The day was MOST enjoyable & fun!

We had lovely weather for our "play day" - sunny and not too hot - no bugs! The grade six students divided the school into 5 teams. They made a name, flags, and created a cheer for their teams. In the morning they rotated around stations - 1) Sit ups/Pushups/Jumping Jacks TagGame - 2) Run Sheep Run - 3) cops & robers - 4) rock paper scissors - 5) Mario dogeball. After lunch the school played water relay games (pass the sponge, move the water from one bucket to another) and parachute games. It was a super day and fun was had by all. -- Howick Elementary School
